A few things about me
dealer and collector Jürgen H. Fricker
Following a course of study in naturalistic drawing under Professor Curth Rothe and several semesters of graphic art, heraldry and art history at the technical colleges of art and design in Pforzheim and Karlsruhe I undertook a professional career in marketing.
However, the challenge of becoming a professional in the hobby and business of collecting antique arms was great, so in 1974 I started an antique weapons business in Pforzheim. My basic knowledge in the field of antiquities and in marketing, together with many years of experience in collecting valuable antique weapons were the prerequisites for my success. In recognition of my expertise, in 1988 I was certified as an expert in European weapons from the middle Ages through the mid-19th century.
Ten years on, I moved my private residence and business to Dinkelsbühl in the historic “Hechtzwinger”, a portion of the completely restored city fortifications.
In September 2011 I relocated my private and business life once again and moved to Honhardt castle. With the purchase and the renovation of Honhardt castle, a lifelong dream has come true. The castle's bergfried houses now exhibition rooms and the largest part of the precious and valuable collection of historic weapons and objects with approx. 1000 items, all of them either used for hunting or of early military origin.
